The winners of junior tournament defined




Competition between school champions (tournament «В» and «E») finished at international festival Moscow Open 2009 on Saturday. There were 537 participants from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz, and Tajikistan.  Participants of tournament «D» competed in their individual offset. Girls were separated from boys. There were some ages categories. Teams consisting of pupils from one school competed in tournament «E».

Winners among boys at their age’s group won followed participants:
Mikhail Perelygin (Penza) – U9 years old, Vyacheslav Tatekhin (Surgut) – U11 years old, Vitaly Terentev (Kazan) – U13, Rail Makhmutov (Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan) – U15, Dmitry Akunka (Elista) – U17.

Winners among girls at their age’s group won followed participants:
Alexandra Obolontceva (Tula) – G9 years old, Rufina Valieva (Naberezhnye Chelny) – G11, Alexandra Makarenko (Izhevsk) – G13, Aisa Imeeva (Elista) – G15, Bika Bulatkhanova (Dagestan) – G17.

Team offset have won: school № 515 (Moscow) in an age category till 10 years, the Second St.-Petersburg grammar school – in a category till 12 years and a team "Privolzhanin" a grammar school №6 from Kazan till 14.

The chess players, who have taken the first places in the subgroups in tournament «D», have received the paid permits to the World championship among schoolboys which will pass from April, 26th U May, 4th in Greece. Organizers of festival will direct the Victorious teams of tournament «Е» to the World championship among school teams which will pass in Bulgaria in June of this year.

At a closing ceremony of tournaments «D» and «E» the vice-president of Moscow Chess federation, the president of the International School Chess Union Alexander Kostiev has noticed that the festival celebrates anniversary – children's and adult tournaments are spent at RSSU for 5 years.

However it is not unique date. Tournament schools champions are celebrating today the 10th anniversary - the International School Chess Union was formed 10 years ago.

In 1999 qualifying tournaments to the European championships and the World among schoolboys have started to be held.

The first pro-rector of the Russian state social university Oleg Shatrov has noticed that participation in tournament of such level is the big achievement for children. He also has hoped to see children among students of the university in the future.
